Hotlanta

By Denene Millner and Mitzi Miller

"Denene Millner and Mitzi Miller's sure-footed debut into the teen-queen world mixes the right amount of gloss...and grit... And while there's a lot of attitude in the book, there's also a good deal of heart, which will make readers eager for a second helping of what the Duke girls have to serve up"

-Essence Magazine April 2008

Denene Millner and Mitzi Miller, well-known authors and journalists, have teamed up to write Hotlanta, a trilogy about Atlanta's most privileged African-American teens, debuting in April 2008 from Point/Scholastic.

In Hotlanta #1, readers are introduced to the lavish lifestyle of Sydney and Lauren Duke, twin sisters who seem to have enviable lives. They attend the fanciest school in Atlanta, they live in the most exclusive neighborhood, drive the most expensive cars and only date the hottest guys.

But, when a mystery begins to unfold and secrets are leaked, the Duke twins learn that nothing is what it seems and that they cannot trust anyone but each other.

Denene Millner is a columnist for Parenting magazine and has worked as an entertainment journalist for Essence, Entertainment Weekly, Honey and The Daily News. She has authored or co-authored eleven books including The Sistahs' Rules, The Vow, and the adaptation of Dream Girls. Denene lives in Atlanta with her husband and two daughters.

Mitzi Miller, currently a contributing editor for Essence magazine, is a freelance journalist and screenwriter and a former associate editor at Jane magazine. She has written for Elle (U.K.), Essence, Vibe, and Honey magazines, and is the co-author of The Vow and The Angry Black Woman's Guide to Life. She resides in New York City
