    For your convenience, we are providing a downloadable version of the Lexus Eco Challenge logo. Permission is granted to use the Lexus Eco Challenge logo for editorial and news purposes in newspapers, newsletters, periodicals and electronic news programs. No alterations may be made to the Lexus Eco Challenge logo. Lexus and Scholastic retain the right to revoke these privileges if logo usage is deemed inappropriate.

  • Program Description
    Following is copy you can use in your outreach materials including Web sites, blogs, news releases, letters and other correspondence.  Feel free to copy and paste as you’d like. 

    One-Sentence Description of the Lexus Eco Challenge:
    The Lexus Eco Challenge is a program designed by Lexus and Scholastic to educate and empower students to take action to improve the environment.
     
    Description - Lexus Eco Challenge Overall:
    The Lexus Eco Challenge, designed by Lexus and Scholastic, is a nationwide education program and contest about the environment that empowers teens to create a better world. Middle and high school students across the county can participate in either or both of the two initial challenges addressing environmental issues related to land, water, air and climate. Teams must define an issue, make a plan to address the issue, implement the plan, and report on the results. Up to 16 teams in each challenge will win $10,000 in grants and scholarships. All the winning teams will be invited to participate in the Final Challenge for a chance to win one of two $30,000 grand prizes. In all, $500,000 in scholarships and grants will be awarded. 
     
    In addition to the ongoing contest, the Lexus Eco Challenge also includes educational materials designed by Scholastic to encourage teachers to integrate creative lesson plans into their classrooms to help teach students about the environment.  For each challenge, the Web site (www.scholastic.com/lexus) has lesson plans and teacher instructions including questions to help guide a discussion about the various challenge topics, facts about the topics, and guidelines for a specific classroom project. 
     
    The Lexus Eco Challenge is part of The Lexus Pursuit of Potential, a philanthropic initiative that generates up to $3 million in donations each year for organizations that help build, shape and improve children’s lives.
