New Swine Flu Guidelines
Schools and doctors prepare for back to school with new rules on prevention from the Center for Disease Control
Officials are now advising against closing down schools to stop the spread of swine flu this fall. The Center for Disease Control says a few simple measures like washing your hands frequently, coughing into a tissue, and staying home when sick will prevent a widespread outbreak. Schools can remain open, even when students or teachers come down with the H1N1 (swine flu) virus.
Kid Reporter Daniel Wetter sat down this summer to talk about swine flu prevention with Dr. Glennah Trochet of the Sacramento County Public Health Board in Sacramento, California. Most people do not need to be any more worried about H1N1 than they are about the regular flu, says Dr. Trochet. She also offers some great advice on how to stay healthy. Look out! You may have to get TWO vaccines! But it will be worth it.
