Thanksgiving Printable Door Signs
First, sign up to receive free historical fiction letters from a young Pilgrim and a young Wampanoag Native American during the month of November.
You will receive an emailed letter from each character on November 5, November 12, and November 19.
Hang our free printable signs on your door to announce that your class is expecting emails:
Door Sign 1: "Email from a Plimoth Pilgrim"
Door Sign 2: "Email from a Wampanoag Indian"
Here are some ideas to make the Thanksgiving emails an event in your classroom:
- Encourage students to write responses to each emailed letter.
- Print out copies of the emails. Enlarge them on a copy machine, and display them on your Thanksgiving bulletin board.
- Have a special student stand up and read an email to the class. This might be a student reward or a way to build confidence in reading aloud.
- Have a Readers Theater performance where one student plays the role of the Pilgrim and one student plays the Native American.
- Print copies of the letters and let your students deliver them to other classrooms.
