Helen Rodriguez-Trias, M.D.

Helen Rodriguez-Trias started her medical career in Puerto Rico, where she attended the University of Puerto Rico's Medical School, and developed the first center for care of newborn babies on the island.

Helen has since become an advocate for education on subjects ranging from AIDS awareness to child abuse. She was honored by the American Public Health Association, whose Governing Council elected her President. Helen has been a strong, effective force in the fight for women's and children's health care rights and reproductive freedom.
