Young Shin

Community Activist

Young Shin is an immigrant from Korea who has worked hard to provide equal employment opportunities and fair treatment for Asian immigrant women.

After graduating from law school in 1983, she helped form Asian Immigrant Women Advocates, an association for Asian women working in the hotel, garment, restaurant, electronics and nursing home industries in the San Francisco Bay Area. Young is a longtime community activist and a committed board member of a number of organizations whose mission is to aid and empower Asian women. She has received honors and awards for her endless efforts in helping to create a better world for women.
