Cobb County (GA) School District teamed up with Dell to hand out 8,000 Dell notebook computers to teachers in the district. As part of the $10 million contract, Dell will train teachers to use the technology and integrate it into their instruction.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is partnering with CDW Government, Inc., the government and education subsidiary of CDW Corporation, to provide the district with Microsoft and off-the-shelf software as well as printers. Under the first agreement, CPS will update software on more than 60,000 computers throughout the system at a cost of potentially $3 million per year. CPS has also signed a $2 million contract with CDW-G for new printers.

Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) purchased Carnegie Learning's Bridge to Algebra curricula for several thousand additional eighth-grade students following the implementation of the company's algebra readiness curriculum during the past school year. This expansion will reach students across all LAUSD middle schools beginning this fall. The contract, for $1 million over three years, includes Carnegie Learning's Professional Development services for teachers.

The School District of Philadelphia signed a three-year renewal agreement with SchoolNet. In addition to renewing usage of SchoolNet's Instructional Management Solutions (IMS), the district will implement the company's Human Capital Management Solution to track and evaluate professional development. Recently, the district also began to give families access to student profiles through a program called FamilyNet.
