She inspires young audiences to read and write more by sharing her own writing process with them — where she gets her ideas, what it's like to revise, the excitement of becoming a library detective during research. Since much of her work is drawn on her childhood experiences, she shares her personal story as well, which includes the postivie impact writing has had on her life.

The author is a former actress, presentations usually include a dramatic reading from one of her books. Time is left for questions at the end; the author uses this portion of the visit to engage in a dialogue with the students, hoping to inspire as well as inform.

Ms. Wyeth is at home in nearly any setting. She is experienced in addressing groups as small as ten and as large as a thousand.
