Stephen Krensky discusses his experiences with the writing and rewriting process when talking with students. For grades K-2, he plays a word game with students to increase their awareness of words and letters. Then he focuses on one or two of his ideas, discusses how they become stories, and then reads a story to show the end result. For the older grades, he discusses his work in more detail, explaining how he constructs a story, rewrites it, and sees it through the publication process. Whether his audience is big or small, he always involves the children in his presentations and encourages them to ask questions.

Mr. Krensky also does workshops for teachers in which he discusses strategies and ideas for teaching writing to children.
