By Carolyn MeyerCarolyn Meyer has written more than 50 books of fiction and non-fiction for children and young adults. Many of her books have been named to the American Library Association's list of Best Books for Young Adults; Mary, Bloody Mary was voted one of the Top Ten for 1999. Most of her recent books are historical fiction. Although she prefers working with middle school and high school groups of 75 or fewer, she will also address larger groups if the students have read at least one of her books. She talks about where she gets her ideas, how she does research, how she writes (and re-writes!) her books, and how she deals with her editors (real-world versions of her high school English teacher, Miss Frankenberry).
