Judith Moffatt, cut-paper children's book illustrator/author with over 40 books to her credit, will unlock the mystery of how a two-dimensional drawing is transformed into a three-dimensional cut-paper illustration. Ms. Moffatt offers a one hour presentation, which includes a slide show, inviting the children to visit her studio, and, meet some of the real life characters in her books. Along the way, the audience sees the step-by-step process of how a three-dimensional cut-paper piece is constructed, photographed, and sent off to the publisher. When the lights come back on, Ms Moffatt shows the children how to make a cut-paper creature, using some of the techniques they have just learned. Everyone will leave with their very own 3-D work of art! You will need to provide a room that can be darkened, a screen for the slide show, white glue (or glue sticks), scraps of colored paper and scissors for each child.
