Nearly 12,000 students sent in drawings of their favorite U.S. President for Scholastic Book Clubs first-ever "Picture a President" contest.
Which President do you admire most and why?
We've created a showcase of the winning portrait and the finalists, in addition to a portrait for each U.S. President. Can you identify all 44 presidents? Tell us which president do you admire most and why.
This past September, we asked kids across the country to choose their favorite president and draw a portrait of him for Scholastic Book Clubs first-ever "Picture a President" Drawing Contest. Nearly 12,000 students sent in drawings of U.S. Presidents -- from George Washington, to Franklin Pierce, to President-elect Barack Obama.
Helena Bundy, a 10-year-old from Duarte, Calif., won the grand prize (a trip to Washington, D.C.) for her portrait of Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the United States. Ten finalists also won a collection of presidential books.
The "Picture a President" Portrait Gallery will be on display at the Inaugural Fest in Washington, D.C. January 16-24 and in the lobby of Scholastic, Inc. headquarters in New York City until March.
