Celebrate Lincoln's Bicentennial (Born 1809)
Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States, is one of the most inspiring and revered figures in American history. Known as "Honest Abe," he issued the Emancipation Proclamation (1862, 1863) and delivered the Gettysburg Address (1863). In January 2009, President Obama was sworn in with his hand on the bible Lincoln used at his first inauguration in 1861.
