Biography

New York native Aimee Friedman is a senior book editor and noted author of teen novels. Her first work, the New York Times bestseller South Beach, described a topsy-turvy spring break for two high school juniors, Holly and Alexa, who, though contrast in personality, experience a trip of a lifetime together. South Beach was followed up by French Kiss, in which the characters travel to Paris, and Hollywood Hills, which takes the girls to L.A. Aimee is also the author of Breaking Up: A Fashion High Graphic Novel, which was illustrated by Christine Norrie, and examines what happens to friendships when boys come into the picture. Aimee's other work for teens includes the romantic comedy, A Novel Idea, and short stories in the collections Mistletoe and 21 Proms.

Aimee's latest book, The Year My Sister Got Lucky, is her first hardcover novel, and her most personal book yet. It explores the relationship between two sisters, who are best friends, bona fide city girls, and students at a prestigious ballet school (much like Aimee and her older sister). Everything changes, though, when the sisters move to a small, rural town, and the younger sister finds her older sister drifting away from her. Will things ever be the same?

Aimee currently resides in Manhattan, and when she is not writing or editing manuscripts, she is spending time with her friends and family, exploring small bookstores and museums, or shoe-shopping.

And most shocking of all? She's started keeping secrets fro
