Albert Lamb

Biography

Sam's Winter Hat is Albert Lamb's first picture book.   He has been a magazine editor for journals specializing in alternative education, and has also worked as a graphic artist, cartoonist, and illustrator.

Sam's Winter Hat, published in 2006 by Cartwheel Books, is inspired by a friendship during his childhood in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  "Until I was eight-years-old, Billy was my best friend.  He was a great bit of luck to me when I was little, as he was such a great friend," states Lamb.     His relationship with the book's illustrator, David McPhail, also plays into the title's theme of friendship. "David moved into a family house in New Hampshire that I was looking after for my brother and I met him his first night while he was still settling in," he said.  "He instantly became one of my all time favortie human beings, which he has remained ever since."

 Albert Lamb lives in England.
