Strawberry Girl Lesson Plan

I teach Strawberry Girl as part of a Lois Lenski author study. The students like to work together on the computers for research.

The student uses a variety of reference materials to gather information for research.

MATERIALS

SET UP AND PREPARE

In the media center, the students will be introduced Lois Lenski and the large number of books she has written. They will be given a presentation on how to use the internet to gather information, how to use favorites to get to the appropriate websites, and how to scan an article for information.

I find using a computer with a projector is clearer than a direct hook-up to a tv. It is helpful to show the students ahead of time how to find favorites and to scan articles for information. Check the websites ahead of time for changes.

DIRECTIONS
The students will return to the media center to complete an author study sheet on Lois Lenski. They will work together in pairs. They will use the media center's computers.
