Let's Go Fly a Kite

By Jan Tankey

In this unit we are discussing wind. Students will make observations and test predictions about the wind. Then we will make kites and fly them. For our language arts component, we will analyze a book about flying a kite. Although wind is our theme, the skill I teach is having discussions with peers. The students will learn to use talk partners to better understand concepts of literature and science.

OBJECTIVE

Students will:

  1. Discuss literature with peers
  2. Use the terms character, plot, and setting
  3. Make and test predictions
