Point of View

By Bryna Watkins and Valeta Pafford

In terms of both cognitive development and social development, it is important that students learn to "step into someone else's shoes." This unit shows that people's perception of the world affects how they act and feel about other people and events.

OBJECTIVE

Students Will:

  1. Understand that others may have different perceptions and interpretations of the world.
  2. Understand that other perceptions and interpretations can be as valid as their own.
  3. Write a letter, taking into account another's historical point of view.
  4. Compare and contrast points of view through literature.
