Sylvia Barsotti Dear Parent,

I think more and more of us will be hosting at-home birthday parties this year – I know we will, as my youngest celebrates in mid-July. It’s definitely more work, but when I look at the pictures of past year’s bashes, the kids all look like they are having such a great time it makes it all worth while. Sometimes it’s hard with summer birthdays, as friends and family aren’t always around due to camps, vacations, and summer sports leagues. Do you host summer birthday parties and have tips to share with other parents? Share your experiences on our message boards or email me at Sylvia@scholastic.com.

Here’s to summer birthdays and all the fun they bring!
