Does it feel as if technology is getting too far ahead of you? Ask your tween to sit down with you and share his or her favorite way to communicate. While you might be a shoulder tapper or a bedroom door knocker, consider that your tween might prefer another method of communication. Send him a text — rather than calling him — to tell him when to come home for dinner. Or snapchat or text a photograph of her messy room as a reminder of what she’ll need to work on after she gets home from school. Communicate on terms your child relates to and watch how he responds back.
