Kitchen Experiments Using Eggs

It's been said that spinning an egg is one way to tell whether it's cooked or raw. Cooked eggs spin faster than raw eggs! Make a few hard-boiled eggs with your kids, and compare them to some raw eggs to test this theory and determine whether it's accurate. Another activity is to place a raw egg in a glass of water. Does it sink or float? Then, try dropping the same egg in a glass of salt water. Is there any difference? Have your child record her observations in her own science journal.
