Read "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke

One of the themes of Cornelia Funke's Inkheart is keeping secrets. As your child reads the story, talk about why the main characters keep certain things to themselves and how it helps or hurts them. Talk about what it means to be trustworthy, too, and how the plot might have been different if the characters hadn't kept so many secrets from one another.
