Teach Your Child How to Check Her Own Math Homework
Addition and subtraction are opposite operations. This means that you can use one operation to check the other. For example, 25+50=75, and 75-25=50. Teach your child to use the opposite operation to check her work. If she's doing addition, she can then flip the equation to form a subtraction problem and make sure that her answer is correct. Show her how to do the same thing with multiplication and division, too. For example, 2x5=10 and 10÷2=5. Once you teach her the skill, use it to check the answers to several different problems together.
