Use Relationships to Teach Analogies
Analogies can be pretty intimidating. Help your child learn how to decode analogies by looking at the relationships between the words. For example, if the analogy is dogs:bark::___:meow, you'd want to ask your child to first look at the relationship between dogs and bark. If your child is struggling with making the connection, you can suggest that barking is something that dogs do. Is meowing something that another animal does? Sure — cats!
