What Makes a Garden Grow?

Show your child examples of what plants need — sunshine, water, and soil — by showing her what happens when they don’t have them. If you have a plant that’s drooping a little, say, "What do you think this plant needs? Why is it looking droopy and tired? Maybe if you water it, and put it in a sunny spot, it’ll perk up." Then, she can keep an eye out for the transformation.
