Where Does the Apostrophe Go?

Here's a fun game to play today, in celebration of National Grammar Day. Explain to your child that apostrophes can be used to show possession or they can take the place of a missing letter or letters. Then, read a chapter book out loud, and when you come across a word with an apostrophe, ask your child to point it out and explain why it’s being used.
