Write a Persuasive Letter

The next time your child gets upset about something out of her control, encourage her to channel that passion into a persuasive letter. For example, if she believes your town should allow kids to hold lemonade stands on their own property, but town ordinances prohibit it, have her write a letter to the town council to share her perspective.
