The blue whale is one of the loudest animals in the world. Blue whales communicate with pulses, groans, and moans. Their voices are extremely low. Humans cannot always hear them. But blue whales can hear each other from 1,000 miles away. They use sound to find their way in the ocean.

Fun Fact

Punxsutawney Phil is the most famous groundhog. But he is not the only weather-predicting groundhog! Octoraro Ophie lives in Quarryville, Pa. He also predicts the weather on February 2. So does Shubenacadie Sam from Nova Scotia, and Wiarton Willie from Wiarton, Ontario. Wiarton Willie is an albino groundhog. Most groundhogs are brown with dark eyes, but Willie has white fur and blue eyes.
