A Is for Apple Craft

Young students will love working with cereal as they create and decorate the letter "A" in this fun craft.

  • Grades: PreK–K, 1–2

Students finally get to play with their food as they use apple-flavored cereal and construction paper to create a fun apple-shaped "a."

What You Need

  • White construction paper
  • Green and brown construction paper cut into small pieces
  • Pencil
  • Apple-flavored cereal
  • Glue

What You Do

  1. For each child, draw a large block-style lowercase "a" on a piece of white construction paper. Give one to each student.
  2. Have the students glue brown pieces of construction paper to the top part of the letter's stem to make the apple's stem. Also add a green leaf to the same area.
  3. Glue apple-flavored cereal all around the rest of the letter.
  4. Cut small diamond shapes and glue them in the center of the "a" to represent seeds.
