Barbara McClintock is an internationally renowned author and illustrator of more than 40 picture books for children.
Barbara's most well-known books include The Gingerbread Man (written by Jim Aylesworth) and her Adele & Simon series.
Each of her books have received numerous starred reviews, and her books have been named for numerous awards and citations. Her artistic genius and superb craftsmanship have been noted by readers and critics alike. Her books have five times been named New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books. Her books have been honored with numerous citations, both nationally and internationally. They include: a New York Times Notable Book, a Boston Globe/Horn Book Award Honor Book, a Sydney Taylor gold medal winner, a Golden Kite Honor award, two Time Magazine Picture Book awards, a China Times Best Picture Book award, a British Fantasy award, an ALA Notable Book citation, a Literary Guild Selection, and many more.
